- Review from a visitor (October 29, 2006): I was reading
the feed back that was posted on your web site on Paradise Pastures,
and I have to disagree with the comments made by the post on October 21st. I went with my Wife, Mother and Son and we had a wonderful
time there! The cost to go to the farm was $8, but they have a $1
discount if you print the coupon off their web site. None of the
pumpkins were rotten and we search a good 15 min. before we choose
our pumpkin. The hay ride took off every fifteen or twenty minutes
depending on the crowd. We went to the playground and we saw the
tire swing and yes it's set low, but it's not meant to be sit in
but rather to stand and swing. My son wasn't interested in this
swing, but rather the large platform that was placed over a large
log that acted like a teeter totter, the kids love it, and my mother
of 76 years old was right in there playing with them. The snack bar
was just hot dogs and chips, but most of the pumpkin patches that I
have been to don't even have this, so don't plan on a gourmet
lunch or dinner if you plan to come. The restrooms were porta-potties,
but guess what it's a farm and this event only happens once a year!
We were able to pet the donkeys ( they have a baby donkey that is 3
weeks old) and goats and two calves, rabbits and yes a skunk that
they pull out of the cage every so often. They also have a Zonkey
(half zebra half donkey)and he was very friendly and you were able
to feed him too! The corn maze was just on the other side of the
petting area and fun and easy to do with young ones. In conclusion I
would recommend in going to Paradise Pastures, there are no lines to
deal with and it's a very laid back atmosphere!
