Comments and Feedback About Arizona Pick-Your-Own Farms!

This page provides a detailed comments submitted by visitors to pumpkin patches, corn mazes, hay rides, Halloween activities and related farms and activities in Arizona

In reading comments, whether they are positive or negative, bear in mind that everyone's experience varies. We try to weed out emails which are clearly fakes or so extreme as to be implausible. When we get negative feedback about a farm or orchard, we contact the farm, and provide them the comments (without any reference to the person who submitted them) to allow them to respond. We then publish both the visitor's comments and the farm's response.

Don't pay too much to a single negative comment; rather, look for patterns.

In the past several years, we can happily say that negative comments are generally rare. The vast majority of people find the the trip to be immensely rewarding!

I'm having butternut squash and sliced tomatoes from Apple Annies tonight. They also have a great selection of canned goodies! upick included beans, peas, crowder peas, black eyed peas, 4 or 5 kinds of summer squash, cucumbers, sweet peppers(2 or 3 kinds), tomatoes, roma tomatoes, hot peppers, chilis, jalapenos, broccoli, red cabbage, cabbage, cauliflower, okra. They picked, cantalope, watermelon, sweet corn, a lot of varieties of winter squash, pumpkins and gourds. At the orchard they have upick apples, peaches etc. And a lot of home made canned goodies. They also do hayride and pumpkin pickin. They have a lot of festivals in the summer and fall. I think they do a great job."

"They have a gazillion types of apples, peaches and Asian pears ready for picking. Wagons are available for you to ride into the specific orchards or you can walk. This is also the place for the apple-smoked burgers and fresh apple pie a la mode to die for…"
  • Tolmachoff Farms - 5726 N. 75th Ave, Glendale, AZ 85303.

A visitor writes on February 1, 2008: "I also visited in October, during the fall festival. I didn't find the entrance fee unreasonable or any employees rude, and we had a blast! Especially our 8 year old daughter. The farm had a petting zoo, bounce houses, 2 corn mazes, a kid's 'train' ride, a tricycle racing area, and some kids playground equipment. The pumpkins were a little expensive, but the rest of the goods in the market were reasonable. We bought preserves, apple butter, and one big pumpkin."
A visitor writes on September 04, 2008: "I just read some of the comments on your site and I wanted to let you know that we have gone to the farm for many years and enjoy everything they have to offer and everyone is so friendly. They offer activities for children of all ages, we have many great memories of the farm. Each year they add more & more we will continue to go every year, our 4 year old son would not come out of the corn box "what a blast". We are looking forward to this up coming season. Sincerly, Cindy"
A visitor writes on September 05, 2008: "I have been a customer of Tolmachoff Farms for many years!! Every year seems to get better and better! My children have such a terrific time when we have visited!! From the petting zoo, to the train ride and the wonderful vegetable garden and large assortment of pumpkins, YOU just couldn't ask for more!!!!!!! The employees have always been courteous and very helpful when it comes to providing us with information about the farm or any general questions we have had. They are very professional. The best time to visit the farm is in October when they have so many fun activities!!! The haunted corn maze its definitely our favorite, not to mention a low admission cost which is also a great deal!! A lot of the other haunted mazes in town can be twice as much if not more!!!!! Definitely would recommend this farm experience to any family wanting to have some good fun for a great price!! You can tell this is a real FAMILY RUN farm, it definitely shows!!! "

A visitor writes on October 21, 2008: "People need to start appreciating the farms we have left and the hard work they put in. Children are clueless on the production of food now days and Tolmachoff Farms provides a great environment for that. We support you and your family!"
A visitor writes on October 25, 2008: "Just wanted to say that today (10/25/08)myself(29), my niece(17), and my son(17mths)visited the Tolmachoff farm and had an awesome time.. Between the mazes, fresh hot kettle corn, animals, fresh produce, preserves, and of course the pumpkin patch, our day was nothing like the other comments i've seen left about this farm. That includes the price or the attitude of employees around the property. With all the things i could have choosen to do today w/ my niece, who will be going off to college next fall, the 3 of us had the best time rompin through those mazes having the best time laughing w/ each other.. On top of all that the prices are not bad at all, the pumpkins are only 2 bucks or so more, and twice as big!!! Thank you Tolmachoff family for a day they may never think twice about, but one i will definetly never forget!! "
A visitor writes on September 21, 2009: "Can't wait for another fall season, I have been taking my grandchildren for 5 years now, its a tradition and we love it!"
