This page provides a
detailed list of Arizona's pumpkin patches, corn mazes, hay rides
and other Halloween farm stuff!! Just scroll down this
page! Some are farms, where you take a hay ride out into the field, others are elaborate farm stands with mountains of pumpkins and other activities and some
are simple roadside stands. All should have loads of pumpkins to choose
from. To really make it fun for your kids, look for those that have
the extra activities, like a corn maze, spook house, or hayride. There is
usually a small fee for the mazes (of course, the more elaborate mazes
tend to charge more. Hayrides are often free.
ALWAYS call before you go to confirm all information, they don't always report changes to me!
We have loads of related resources
here, too.
On our Pick-your-own website, we also have pages with our own
simple
instructions on canning, freezing and drying many other fruits and
vegetables, such as how to make jam, apple
butter, applesauce, spaghetti
sauce, salsa, pickles,
ketchup or freezing
corn (these links open new pages, just close them to return here). Be sure to come back at Christmas if you are looking
for a cut-your-own Christmas tree farm!
Look at the bottom of the page for links to resources on home canning, picking
tips, recipes, etc..
I'm always looking for
more to add and feedback about any patch, stand or farm you have visited, so write me using the Feedback
form! And if you have
a farm and want to add it or correct the information, please click on Add My Farm!

not go to this farm last year, but for several years before we had. However,
the last time we went the farm did NOT grow pumpkins, but had them trucked
in from Mexico and then laid them out in the field. The huge shipping
containers could be seen in the back areas, and there were no vines and no
pumpkins growing out of the ground." Blake: I've heard that many farms grow pumpkins in a field,
but if the crop does poorly or they run out, they truck in pumpkins to
provide a larger selection and better experience for the customers.

(UPDATED: September 01, 2011) A visitor writes on
September 21, 2011: "We enjoyed the farm. My kids had
a great time in the corn maze and the hayride. They liked the food
too. My family went several times on the weekends last year and one
of their favorites was the Saturday with Game and Fish
presentations. My wife liked the homemade craft booths and the horse
shows. The kids also loved the Cinderella Pumpkins in the pick your
own field. Everyone was friendly and professional."
A visitor writes on September 04, 2009: "I live in Tucson and am 74 years old. The last thing
I could possibly do to have a good time is travel 3 1/2 hours to
Chino Valley to go to a pumpkin festival. Well, let me tell you I
was dead wrong. First, they don't nickel and dime you to death.
Their fees were very reasonable and most of all there's alot more
to it than goin into a hot field just to pick a pumpkin. They have
the Game & fish department do all kinds of demonstrations, such as
archery, safe boating and fishing, along with hunting, fishing and
trap shooting location information at their booth. Their roasted
corn was the best I ever tasted, and Im from Iowa. The lady gave a
lecture on horses and animals that had the kids bug eyed. My wife &
I stayed the whole day and did everything. Just to let you know,
its not for kids only. " Comment from a visitor, October 5, 2008: "I took my family to an "authentic" farm today!! After so many other farms have
closed (Young's, Cooke's and Collier), we were happy to find this. We picked
pumpkins off of the vine, played in a real corn maze and petted farm animals
that looked happy and healthy!! Horses liked petting too!! Plus we went on a
hayride on a old tractor!! Owners were friendly and informative. Very laid back
atmosphere, no big crowds, our kids could explore, NOT carnival-like!! Had some
great chili, roasted corn, and AWESOME brownies and pumpkin cookies!! We will
make this trek an annual event for our family! Nice drive from Phoenix, Arizona.
