This page provides a detailed list of Northeast New Jersey's pumpkin patches, corn mazes, hay rides and other Halloween farm stuff!!  Just scroll down this page! Some are farms, where you take a hay ride out into the field, others are elaborate farm stands with mountains of pumpkins and other activities and some are simple roadside stands. All should have loads of pumpkins to choose from. To really make it fun for your kids, look for those that have the extra activities, like a corn maze, spook house, or hayride. There is usually a small fee for the mazes (of course, the more elaborate mazes tend to charge more. Hayrides are often free. ALWAYS call before you go to confirm all information, they don't always report changes to me!

We have loads of related resources here, too.

On our Pick-your-own website, we also have pages with our own simple instructions on canning, freezing and drying many other fruits and vegetables, such as how to make jam, apple butter, applesauce, spaghetti sauce, salsa, pickles, ketchup or freezing corn (these links open new pages, just close them to return here).  Be sure to come back at Christmas if you are looking for a cut-your-own Christmas tree farm!  Look at the bottom of the page for links to resources on home canning, picking tips, recipes, etc..

I'm always looking for more to add and feedback about any patch, stand or farm you have visited, so write me using the Feedback form! And if you have a farm and want to add it or correct the information, please click on Add My Farm!

Again, the people are great, the pumpkins are nice.  But, it's definitely not a "farm" that you'd make a special trip to - like we did :)  "

A visitor writes on October 11, 2008: "There are lots of activities for the entire family, of any age. The employees are friendly, and the hay ride was wonderful. However, there are ridiculously long lines, and no proper organization of the stands. My family and I waited an hour - no exaggeration - just to order food, and then another 10 mins. just to get our food, because there was only one person working there. They had many employees throughout the farms, but not enough in the areas needed. We also waited 30 mins just to get tickets for the hay ride, and another 15 mins to get on the hay ride. If you don't mind waiting to do EVERYTHING there, it's a good place to spend the day."
A visitor writes on October 20, 2008: "I just have to say your site is great it really allowed myself and family to pick a great place for a Sunday excursion. Alstede Farms in NJ was so enjoyable. I would suggest you tell people to get there real early because there's so much to do. We arrived at 10am and had a good hour to enjoy ourselves before the place was packed. We bought all our food and tickets and berry and fruit picking buckets early and did a majority of the events they had before the rush. We spent 4 hours there and had a ball. What a magical place!"

They also offer fresh mozzarella, fruit, flowers and jams. Hours vary by season but in spring and summer open 7 days a week. So you pay for the ride and for the pumpkin.... It is a nice ride to the patch. If you do not want to go to the patch they do have pumpkins by the entrance. They have an amazing corn maze during the day. It is huge. At night they have a horror one which is a different maze then the one during the day. I hopefully will be testing this out this coming weekend. "
