This page provides a
detailed list of Rhode Island's pumpkin patches, corn mazes, hay rides
and other Halloween farm stuff!! Just scroll down this
page! Some are farms, where you take a hay ride out into the field, others are elaborate farm stands with mountains of pumpkins and other activities and some
are simple roadside stands. All should have loads of pumpkins to choose
from. To really make it fun for your kids, look for those that have
the extra activities, like a corn maze, spook house, or hayride. There is
usually a small fee for the mazes (of course, the more elaborate mazes
tend to charge more. Hayrides are often free.
ALWAYS call before you go to confirm all information, they don't always report changes to me!
We have loads of related resources
here, too.
On our Pick-your-own website, we also have pages with our own
simple
instructions on canning, freezing and drying many other fruits and
vegetables, such as how to make jam, apple
butter, applesauce, spaghetti
sauce, salsa, pickles,
ketchup or freezing
corn (these links open new pages, just close them to return here). Be sure to come back at Christmas if you are looking
for a cut-your-own Christmas tree farm!
Look at the bottom of the page for links to resources on home canning, picking
tips, recipes, etc..
I'm always looking for
more to add and feedback about any patch, stand or farm you have visited, so write me using the Feedback
form! And if you have
a farm and want to add it or correct the information, please click on Add My Farm!
[weather]
Remember: ALWAYS call (or follow the link to the farm's own website, if the name
is a blue link) to confirm the information before you go! They may close,
run out or change events, times, etc. without notifying me!

visitor writes on October 12, 2009: "This farm is BRAND NEW and as such
has almost nothing that they have advertised on their page. The corn maze is
a total joke- the corn is only 3-4 feet high and the path through the corn
is 3 feet wide and took all of 30 seconds to find our way through. The "hay"
ride over was short and basically through some newly planted grass and mud.
They DO NOT HAVE A PUMKIN PATCH!!! They blamed the weather- but the truth is
the land just wasnt cleared in time to plant pumkins. None of the activites
were up and running either. No food. A TOTAL RIP-OFF and FALSE ADVERTISING!
Please warn your readers. I was really mad and the kids were really
disappointed!" A visitor writes on October 12, 2009: "My family
went today to Beaver Brook Farm. The webpage talked about the pumpkin patch,
corn maze and petting zoo. We have been to a few of the farms on your web
page and had a great time. This farm was not a farm at all and was a total
waste of time and money. It cost us $16.00 to go on a tracker ride for 3
mins. A small boy walked us through a 3 foot corn maze for about 5 mins. and
then we were taken to a spot where 20 pumpkins (which looked store bought)
were laying in hay. As for the food we had a choice of chips or store bought
cookies. There was no gift shop. Please do not reccomend this farm. "
