This page provides a detailed list of East Tennessee's pumpkin patches, corn mazes, hay rides and other Halloween farm stuff!! Just scroll down this page! Some are farms, where you take a hay ride out into the field, others are elaborate farm stands with mountains of pumpkins and other activities and some are simple roadside stands. All should have loads of pumpkins to choose from. To really make it fun for your kids, look for those that have the extra activities, like a corn maze, spook house, or hayride. There is usually a small fee for the mazes (of course, the more elaborate mazes tend to charge more. Hayrides are often free. ALWAYS call before you go to confirm all information, they don't always report changes to me!

Open: August-October (8am-7pm Monday to Saturday, 1pm-6pm Sun), November-End of Season (8am-6pm Monday to Saturday, 1pm-5pm Sun). Prepicked apples: over 18 varieties of apples on almost 100 acres. Oren Wooden's father planted the first apple tree over a 50 years ago. The apple house operates August thru November with apples, pumpkins, cider, homemade pies, donuts, souvenirs and crafts.

A visitor writes on October 25, 2009: "Enjoyed this farm for 3 solid hours and our neighbor's son was NOT happy to leave. We went on a Saturday night and there was probably around 1000 people in attendance. This farm is great for all ages and we had more fun watching the kids than anything else. The corn cannon was fun for kids and absolutely liberating for adults. I would strongly recommend this location for kids and groups looking for good field trips."

Travel East on 305 for 3.2 miles and turn left on County Road 378 (Tellico Avenue). Go 1.2 miles and turn left on Highway 307. Travel ¾ mile to the Corn Maze (entrance will be on the left). From Mayfield Dairy's Visitors Center: Turn left (North) on Highway 307 and travel 2.0 miles to the Corn Maze (entrance will be on the left). Open: From September 2 to October 31 on Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 pm, Saturday from 1-9 pm, Sunday from 1-5 pm. Oddly, the Mayfield website uses a terrible design which makes it very difficult to find the information about the corm maze. Here's a direct link to the page (pdf). There is another a rticle that tells all about it. They have animated cows that the kids can actually milk by hand, an animal barn with a variety of animals, a tour of an operational dairy parlor showing how cows are milked, hay rides, a corn cannon, kiddie tractors (tricycles) and educational silos. Mayfield ice cream treats, snacks and drinks are available during the week. Hot dogs, hamburgers and concessions will be available on the weekends. The maze will be open during the week for school groups with reservations and to the general public on weekends. 2008 Admission is $8.00 per person (four years and under are free). Admission for school groups is $6 per person.

A visitor writes on October 16, 2008: "Fenders Farm is an excellent place for kids and adults to go. They have a fantastic 7 acre corn maze in the fall. They offer different versions of clue forms to find your way out of the maze (ie: christian, educational etc.) It's a great place for church childrens and youth groups or school field trips and even have classroom in the corn. They are available for parties. They have hayrides to a pumpkin patch where you can pick your own pumpkin. They even have a little cow train for the little bitty kids. They have a 3 acre "field of screams" which is a haunted maze. I live in southwest virginia and drive over for a day of fun. They have a ton of other activities these are just a few. I just wanted to let you know they are alot more than pumpkins. Just a great place for the family. (UPDATED: October 16, 2008)
