Some are farms, where you take a hay ride out into the field, others are elaborate farm stands with mountains of pumpkins and other activities and some are simple roadside stands. All should have loads of pumpkins to choose from. To really make it fun for your kids, look for those that have the extra activities, like a corn maze, spook house, or hayride. There is usually a small fee for the mazes (of course, the more elaborate mazes tend to charge more. Hayrides are often free. ALWAYS call before you go to confirm all information, they don't always report changes to me!

The Pumpkin Patch is the primary fundraiser for the St. James Youth Ministry. The Pumpkin Patch also helps keep local farmers in business. We invite you to dress like an American Indian or a Pilgrim to come to see the fall colors, plant a Christmas tree, run through a maze, and climb the hay stacks. Be aware that these folks are "heavy" on the Christian side. We only started going to them about 2 months ago so am not sure of all that you pick, but do know that right now there is a pumpkin patch to pick pumpkins for Halloween and then they have pie pumpkins separately. We have picked Black-eyed peas and two others that I am not sure of the name. During strawberry time you can pick your own and as time goes on I know that we will find more and more that we can pick.
