This page provides a detailed list of long Island, NY's and Statan Island's pumpkin patches, corn mazes, hay rides and other Halloween farm stuff!!   Just scroll down this page! Some are farms, where you take a hay ride out into the field, others are elaborate farm stands with mountains of pumpkins and other activities and some are simple roadside stands.  All should have loads of pumpkins to choose from.  To really make it fun for  your kids, look for those that have the extra activities, like a corn maze, spook house, or hayride.  There is usually a small fee for the mazes (of course, the  more elaborate mazes tend to charge more. Hayrides are often free. ALWAYS call before you go to confirm all information, they don't always report changes to me!

This is New York’s oldest continually farmed site, self-guided tour, hay-ride, refreshments, children’s crafts and pumpkins available for purchase.  2008 prices: $4/person; $14/family of four. Park at Historic Richmond Town, and ride the free shuttle bus to Decker Farm. Admission includes the shuttle bus, hayride, corn maze and activities for the kids (farm chores and games).     A visitor writes on October 30, 2009:     (positive) "I've been to Finks Farm and their pumpkins are in a pumpkin patch grown on the vine and the hayride goes way back behind their maze. The person who wrote that their pumpkins were placed in a fenced area and the corn cannon was closed must be mistaken. They must have visited another farm in the local area that offers almost the same as Finks. I've seen both. Finks has a seven acre corn maze that we were not able to go completely through. The guy in the tower had to show us the way out. The last entry sounds like sour grapes and wrong information. I would recomend Finks to all. 
    A visitor writes on October 25, 2009:     (negative) "Pumpkins were not on the vine as advertised, just thrown together in a small fenced in area Hayride was about 1/8 of a mile and barely got away from the main area pumpkin slingshot was not available I won the corn canon and was awarded a rotted pumpkin the corn maze was through 4 foot corn stalks you could see over and they were dead and bare to make it even worse. The only good thing about this place was the kiddie area. Unfortunately we did not have kids so the experience was not that great for us. I would not recommend this farm."

The website is very informative and clears up any questions you may have. Also I called before I went and the answering machine also had a message about the admission fee. Everyone loved the kiddie train. The whole family got to go for a ride! The Hayride was great with music and dancing! The 7 acre corn maze was great. We will be coming back next year for sure."

The $12.00 general admission covers unlimited access for the day to hay rides, corn maze, animal farm, and playground area, which includes combine slide, tricycle track, calf roping, logic hay maze, cub house, corn tunnel, corn kernel box, and more. All children ages 2 and under are admitted FREE. We are sorry to hear that someone was unhappy with our operation; however, we have yet to have people leave without a smile. This is an admission fee that they don't advertise anywhere until you arrive with 6 adults and 2 kids wanting to pick pumpkins. They do not apply the admission fee to your purchase. It was very upsetting to arrive with Grndma, Grandpa, Aunt, Uncle, Mom, Dad and two kids under 2 and be told to pay $72.00 just to walk in the field. Please let others know in advance before they drive all the way there. Thanks "

The staff was so nice and so patient with all the kids!! My daughter loved the animals and went on her first ponyride. We went on two hayrides, the kiddie train 3 times, went through the corn maze, picked pumpkins, had our faces painted and The Fall Western Photo center was a blast!!! Pictures and memories that will last a LIFETIME. Not to mention the food was great to. Homemade breads, corn right off the cob..We plan on going pack every year!!!!     A visitor writes on September 24, 2008: (positive)  "i just have to say i visited finks farm this past weekend. i cannot believe how much they have to do there. we were there for over 4 hours, from seeing all the animals, to feeding the goats by spinning a wheel, going through a corn maze, which i found out was mickey mouse on a tractor! the kids even took a ride on a kiddie train, which looks like a cow, slinging pumpkins, to air shooting corn! my kids loved playing in the corn kernels and on the combine slide. there is even a place to have lunch, get your face painted and have your fall photo taken, and as your ready to leave, you can purchase mums and decorations at the farmstand. this place was awesome, and the kids cannot wait to go back. oh yes and the best is, you can pick your own pumpkins off of a vine. now that is something you rarely see. i would def. recommend this to people because it has been massed email from my end!! hope you can enjoy like i did!!"

    A visitor writes on October 05, 2009: "We visited the farm on Sunday, October 4, 2009. We had a 3 year old with us. The farm was beautiful. The staff were great. There is plenty to keep a toddler busy and happy. By far, the most enjoyable part for me was the area with goats and sheep and chickens and ducks. The goats and sheep were as friendly as a family dog. They were so clean one would think they had been to the spa. I could have forgotten to go pick pumpkins, eggplant and string beans because I was so busy with the goats and sheep! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and we will surely come again. So far, this was the most pleasant farm we have gone to. My compliments to the owners. "

The staff is great. Checkout is superfast. No charge for bags. No charge for the wagons for use in the orchard. Short rows, plenty of apples, plenty of veggies for picking as well.
