Looking for a local pumpkin patch, maize maze, hayride, gourds and other Halloween activities in Southern East Anglia (Essex, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire), England? Most have loads of pumpkins to choose from. To really make it fun for your kids, look for those that have the extra activities, like a maize maze, spook house, or hayride. There is usually a small fee for the mazes (of course, the more elaborate mazes tend to charge more. Hayrides are often free. You can get up close and personal with our animals at Woodside Animal Farm. Feed them, pet them and even cuddle them during our 'Cuddly Encounters' hands on sessions. As well as our wide range of farm animals and reptiles there are tractor and trailer rides, animal demonstrations, a mini fun fair, crazy golf and lots of outdoor play fun. For rainy days and when the kids just want to run wild there’s the heated indoor soft play centre and cafe serving fresh sandwiches, toasties and paninis, a selection of rich and warming coffees and a tempting range of delicious cakes and treats.

Open: Farm Shop is open Monday to Thursday & Saturday 9:00 -5:00, Fridays 9:00 to 6:00, Sundays 10 am to 4:00, The Farm Shop is open all year round. Our specialty is English apples - we grow 40 varieties in our orchards. The season begins in August and ends in April or May. A date for your diary is Saturday October 18th. Then we will hold our annual Apple Day and Farmers' Market when you will be able to sample 30 varieties of apple grown at Lathcoats and enjoy many other attractions. Directions: A12 Galleywood exit. Take B1007 towards Galleywood for one mile, at traffic lights straight over. After 200meters, Turn right just past Helix Garage, into Beehive La, B1009. Farm is less than 1 mile on L. 45 hectares of apples, 40 varieties grown, also 3 hectares strawberries and other soft fruit, plus cherries, plums, pumpkins. You can rent lots of varieties of apple trees and get to keep all the apples at harvest time.
