Looking for a local pumpkin patch, maize maze, hayride, gourds and other Halloween activities in Sussex, England? Some are farms, where you take a hay ride out into the field, others are elaborate farm stands with mountains of pumpkins and other activities and some are simple roadside stands. Most have loads of pumpkins to choose from. To really make it fun for your kids, look for those that have the extra activities, like a maize maze, spook house, or hayride. There is usually a small fee for the mazes (of course, the more elaborate mazes tend to charge more. Hayrides are often free. ALWAYS call before you go to confirm the info, they don't always report changes to me!

East Sussex

• Sharnfold Farm - PYO: sweetcorn, Christmas trees
  Hailsham Rd, Stone Cross, Pevensey. Phone: 01323 768490. Directions: On B2104 Stone Cross/Hailsham Rd next to Coopers ph. Open: from early May to end September 40 acres of PYO crops providing activity for customers. We will harvest around 10 tonnes of squashes and pumpkins this year! We are growing 15 varieties of Pumpkin and 10 different types of squash, including one called the Pink Banana! We grow one and half acres of pumpkins and squashes. We want to give you a huge variety of sizes that are suitable for both pumpkin carving at Halloween and lots of really good culinary dishes. Halloween half term there is a wicked witch hunt around the farm trail and pumpkin carving every day from 27 - 31 October between 10 am and 4 pm. We have built an amazing Pumpkin display again this year. Your children and grandchildren can also help us find the zombies around the Zombie farm trail. Also Coarse fishing lake for anglers (Tench, Roach, Perch). The farm shop has Asparagus. Orchard & soft fruits, fresh vegetables, fresh herbs, cream, free range eggs, preserves, fruit juices, honey. Also Christmas trees.

• Thornhouse - apples, and pears
  Near the small village of Kirdford, West Sussex, only 30 minutes from Guildford and Chichester, and 20 minutes from Haslemere is Thornhouse Farm, one of the oldest fruit farms in this well known fruit growing area. At Thornhouse Farm you may select your own fruit right off the tree. We have many varieties of apples and pears. Plums starting in July, then Apples and Pears. Open: NOTE - I have not seen an update from or about this farm in several years, they may have gone out of business; from 10 am to 4:30 pm every day during the season which starts in late July and finishes in early October.
• Tulleys Farm - Pumpkin Patch, maize maze, farm animals, play area
  Turners Hill Road, Turners Hill, Crawley, West Sussex RH10 4PE. Open: Tulleys Puzzle Park opens on Saturday 18th July 2015 and runs through to the school holidays, last day for fun - Sunday 6th September. We are a seasonal family events venue running a variety of attractions throughout the year including Shocktober Fest, Pumpkin Patch and Spooktober Fest at Halloween, The Tulleys Family Christmas Experience, Christmas Shop and Natural Christmas Trees, The Big Hatch Easter Experience and The Giant Maize Maze and Puzzle Park throughout the summer. In addition, we have the famous Tulleys Tea Room and Animal Patch which is open for most of the year every day of the week serving a range of delicious hot and cold food, cakes and drinks. Throughout the spring and summer half terms we also have additional kids slides and trampolines in our Victorian Courtyard.
